Baul and Natural Poet, Freedom Fighter Shah Abdus Samad Saberi was born on February 3, 1949, in Kondardia village of Faridpur district. He passed away on April 5, 2013.
Shah Saberi was an exceptional creative figure, having composed over 1,500 songs and poems. His writings express various philosophical aspects of Baul thought and profound spirituality in a simple, heartfelt, and accessible language.
One of the central pillars of his Baul philosophy was love. However, his songs and poems also resonate with deep reflections on devotion (Bhakti), liberation (Mukti), life, philosophy of the soul (Ātmatattva).
A significant compilation of his work, Prohelika (Baul Phrases for the Inquisitive Mind), was published as its first volume by Ankur Publications. It is regarded as a valuable document of Baul philosophy.
Shah Abdus Samad Saberi was a significant voice of Baul consciousness, and his songs continue to inspire people on the path of inner exploration and universal love.
